The Children's Program at the Song of the Self Retreat offers each child a creative and fun spiritual journey of their own! Jai Fuller and Parmatma Khalsa will lead a five-day exploration of the energy in each of our chakras and in all the colors of the rainbow. Each day we will work on a different energy center and it's correlating color. This will be woven into our day through many fun activities including yoga and chanting, outdoor nature time, art projects, dancing, non-competitive games, etc. Throughout the week children will have the opportunity to create a book with art and expressions of what they are experiencing and learning.
Jai Fuller has worked with children in many capacities her whole life. She is a certified childcare provider, and has worked alongside her parents in their holistic daycare center for over 15 years. She is certified in both CPR and First Aid. Jai founded the Khalsa Camp in 1999 and has been co-directing the program every summer, where she teaches children (ages 5-13) yoga and meditation, dance, swimming, acting etc. As a Sikh, Jai was born and raised in a yogic lifestyle, and enjoys teaching yoga to the children in her parents' daycare and in her summer camp. Her teaching style mirrors her everyday relationships: she is bright, enthusiastic, and heart-centered. Jai is an accomplished dancer, and has received extensive training in ballet, modern and West African dance. In 1997 Jai joined the Boston Dance Company where she performed leading roles professionally. Currently Jai is the assistant Director at the Academy of Ballet Arts. She continues to teach both creative movement and African dance classes to children and adults as she has for many years. Jai is happily married and has a three-year-old son, Amar Das.
